A healthy breakfast is the best way to start your day... and what could be a better start to gameday than a breakfast tailgate in The Grove! While I do prefer late afternoon and evening games so you can tailgate all day, morning games are still a fun way to create some unique breakfast tailgate treats. Over on the old blog I posted a few years ago about my morning tailgate menu. I wanted to do an updated post on some new unique dishes I've tried that would be perfect to fuel your tailgate guests for a morning game.

Orange Sweet Roll CupcakesWhat you'll need: -can of Orange Sweet Rolls *can also be done with cinnamon rolls -muffin/cupcake pan -muffin/cupcake liners What you'll do: -Set the oven according to the can -Unroll the orange rolls -Place muffin/cupcake liner in pan -Roll the orange roll in the liner -Bake according to the can -Drizzle icing onto roll after baking | Breakfast BraidThis recipe is customizable. You can make it using eggs, sausage, bacon, veggies... whatever you like! What you'll need: (makes 1 braid) -can of crescent rolls -5-6 eggs -meat: bacon, sausage, or ham -cheese -veggies: green onion, spinach, etc. What you'll do: -Check out For the Love of Cooking for instructions with pictures | Mini Chicken BiscuitsWhat you'll need: -can of biscuit dough -frozen chicken nuggets -honey (for dipping) What you'll do: -cook the chicken nuggets according to the package -cut biscuits into fourths and bake according to package -place chicken nuggets into biscuit -place a jar of honey out for dipping |
Mini Chicken & WafflesWhat you'll need: -frozen mini waffles -frozen chicken nuggets -toothpicks -syrup or honey What you'll do: -prepare mini frozen waffles according to package -cook chicken nuggets according to package -place chicken nugget between two mini waffles -place a toothpick through the waffles and chicken nugget -place a jar of syrup or honey out for dipping | Cinnamon Roll BitesWhat you'll need: -can of cinnamon rolls -cinnamon spice -cookie sheet What you'll do: -set oven to 425 degrees -remove cinnamon roll dough from package -cut cinnamon rolls into fourths and roll into balls -sprinkle additional cinnamon onto dough to ensure each piece has enough cinnamon -place dough on greased sheet -bake for 8-10 minutes -drizzle with icing or serve icing on side for dipping | Donut Hole & Fruit SkewersWhat you'll need: -donut holes (can be purchased at donut shop or grocery store) -fruit of your choice... I like to use strawberries and blueberries... Keep in mind fruit that will brown and go bad, like bananas -disposable skewer sticks What you'll do: -slide the donut holes and fruit on the skewer sticks |
Sausage Pancake BitesWhat you'll need: -sausage mix -sausage -syrup What you'll do: -Check out A Few Shortcuts for preparation and baking instructions -Another variation: to chop up sausage into small pieces... mix into pancake batter... then pour into the muffin tins | PB Cheerio ClustersThese are a NO bake treat... so whip them up while your oven is busy baking all your other dishes!
